The story is written by Todd McFarlane, and most of the artwork is by him also, and the publisher of this comic is Image comics. Well the story of spawn revolves around a man named Al. Al Simmons is a professional mercinary who worked for a legal organization. He had a wife called Wanda that her dearly loved, until one day he was taken away from her by a man named Wynn. Wynn was Al's boss at work. The company he worked for set him up, and finished him off. Why? you ask, because of a clown from hell. The devil sent this clown to convince Wynn to kill Al, because the devil wants Al to lead his army into the gates of heaven. After Al got killed he went straight to hell, where he met the devil himself. There the devil made a deal with him, that he can meet his wife on earth only if he leads hell's army into the gates of heaven. Al or I should say "spawn" agrees. When he reaches back to earth. He meets up with the clown, and then sees his wife married to his best friend. This really makes Spawn angry, but he can't do anything at the moment because his face has been burned badly. (His face has been burned badly, because Wynn killed him by burning him up!). Wanda would never recognize him. One night, Spawn feels this pain around his chest, and then all around his body. A sort of armour starts to surrond him. And that is the white, green and black suit that we know he wears. Well this is the basic plot of Spawn, all the other issues relate after this incident.
